The real deal. What a voice.” \n\n\n\nMark Radcliffe\, BBC Radio 2 Folk Show \n\n\n\n‘Daoirí played for ninety minutes. Watching\, caught in the enthralling flow of the music\, it felt like twenty.’ Live review by From the Margins \n\n\n\n‘What makes this trio exceptionally good\, however\, is the striking voice of singer-bouzouki \n\n\n\nplayer Farrell. A great voice that is perfect for traditional Irish work. The Blue Tar Road \, A \n\n\n\nPint Of Plain and the instrumental Rakish Paddy\, we’ve heard them before\, but rarely so inspired and impressive.’ \n\n\n\nFolk Forum NL \n\n\n\nDublin-born traditional singer and bouzouki player Daoirí (pronounced ‘Derry’) Farrell has \n\n\n\nbeen described by some of the biggest names in Irish folk music as one of most important \n\n\n\nsingers to come out of Ireland in recent years. \n\n\n\nDaoirí received three nominations in the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards 2019 for best singer\, \n\n\n\nbest traditional track and best album for ‘A Lifetime Of Happiness’. \n\n\n\nWithin days of lockdown\, Daoirí began livestreaming. Inspired by the fantastic \n\n\n\nplaying of his uncle\, Robbie began to learn ‘the ropes’ from the great Noel Dowling of \n\n\n\nKilkenny. In 2008 he won the Dublin and the Leinster Bodhrán Championships; moving on to \n\n\n\nwin the Senior All Ireland title one month later at Fleadh Ceoil na hÉireann in Tullamore.

SUMMARY:Sean Keane
DESCRIPTION:Seán Keane \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeán Keane from County Galway is described as the greatest musical find of the 90’s. Traditional Irish\, folk and even country and blues songs all lend themselves to his unique style and unforgettable voice. Growing up in a family of singers and musicians\, Seán learned the sean nós style of singing from his mother and his aunts. \n\n\n\nSinging was his life\, even in early childhood. By the time Seán reached his teens\, he had collected thirteen All-Ireland medals in Fleadh Ceoil competitions. He was by then an accomplished whistle and flute player as well and had taken up the uilleann pipes and bodhraun. \n\n\n\nWhen he joined his first group\, Shegui\, he had already served a long apprenticeship. After travelling throughout Europe with the band\, he left to join Reel Union\, a group which also featured sister Dolores and accordion player Máirtín O’Connor. Later\, he was part of Arcady\, with such well known names as Johnny “Ringo” McDonagh\, Sharon Shannon and Frances Black. \n\n\n\nSeán’s 10th solo album “New Day Dawning” is proving very popular with his fans. Seán continues to get much radio play with songs like “Isle of Hope Isle of Tears”\, “Galway to Graceland”\, “Home”\, and “Home Away From Home” still proving very popular with his listeners. New material like “Paint me a picture of Ireland”\, “Natures Little Symphony”\, “Don’t Teach Me How To Cry” and “One More Hour” are now becoming standards in his show.

SUMMARY:The Father Teds & Heed!
DESCRIPTION:Merry Christmas! Have we got a present for you! We’ve got Heed starting things off! Niamh and Ciara make up the fantastic duo that is Heed! Together they form one of our favourite bands and guarantee a great night! Their sound blends both traditional Irish folk and contemporary pop music for a night of covers and the craic! They’re always updating their set list and never fail to entertain! The Father Teds are a five-piece contemporary Irish band much admired for their world-class musicianship and their ability to put on a great show with their up tempo arrangements of traditional and more modern songs. Formed 27 years ago\, The Father Teds set out on a mission to entertain and have consistently delivered ever since. The key to the band’s success is their versatility\, both in their range of musical styles and the types of shows they perform. A true Nortons favourite\, these lads really know how to put on a show!
